The 2015 Survey and CPOE Evaluation Tool are now live!
 The annual Leapfrog Hospital Survey assesses hospital safety, quality, and efficiency based on national performance measures. Data and findings from the Leapfrog Hospital Survey allow purchasers of health care to structure contracts and purchasing toward the highest performing hospitals, while providing consumers with potentially lifesaving information on hospital quality.
The measures also provide hospitals with a valuable opportunity to benchmark the progress they are making in improving the safety, quality, and efficiency of the care they deliver. Results are publicly reported, by hospital, at www.LeapfrogGroup.org/cp each month.
The first reporting deadline for the 2015 Leapfrog Hospital Survey is June 30, 2015. Results will be publicly reported and refreshed monthly starting on July 25th.

Leapfrog releases its High-risk Surgeries Report
Last month, The Leapfrog Group released its High-risk Surgeries report, an in-depth examination of survival rates for four high-risk procedures--pancreatectomy, esophagectomy, abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA), and aortic valve replacement (AVR).

Leapfrog releases its CPOE Report
 Last week, The Leapfrog Group released its Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) report, a unique study of the electronic prescribing systems that hospitals use to prevent dangerous medication errors.
Although we have seen a dramatic increase in the number of hospitals using CPOE systems in their hospitals, those systems just aren't as effective as they should be. Our research shows that over 1/3 of orders that could potentially result in patient harm are not being caught by hospitals' CPOE systems.
