Following the meeting, representatives from Leapfrog's 2014 Top Hospitals will be honored for their achievements at the evening's Top Hospital Reception.

We are pleased to announce that the 2014 Annual Meeting has been pre-approved by the HR Certification Institute for three credit hours.

Competitive benchmarking reports available; hospitals invited to complete Leapfrog Hospital Survey and CPOE Tool

Leapfrog's competitive benchmarking reports are available for purchase for hospitals that completed a Leapfrog Hospital Survey before August 31, 2014. These reports utilize data submitted through the 2014 Leapfrog Hospital Survey to offer hospitals insights on how they compare nationally and regionally. Choose a report  that lets you compare critical aspects of your care to that at other hospitals in Leapfrog's database of over 1,400 hospitals.

Hospitals are able to complete a 2014 Leapfrog Hospital Survey and CPOE Evaluation Tool until December 31, 2014. More information about completing a 2014 Survey is available here
Employer tool given a Certificate of Validation Seal

Last year, we launched the  Hidden Surcharge Calculator so employers could find out how much they pay because of costly and dangerous hospital errors. We're pleased to share that our calculator has received a Certificate of Validation Seal.

Developed under a collaboration of GE and Intel, The Care Innovations™ Validation Institute's Certificate of Validation is like the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval, but is designed specifically for the healthcare industry.

2014 Fall Scores will be released later this month

The Fall 2014 update to The Leapfrog Group's (Leapfrog) Hospital Safety Score will be released later this month.

The Hospital Safety Score assigns A, B, C, D and F grades to more than 2,500 general hospitals nationwide based entirely on their ability to prevent errors, injuries, accidents, and infections. The Hospital Safety Score is calculated by top patient safety experts, peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. It can be accessed online or via a free mobile app at www.hospitalsafetyscore.org.

Stay tuned for the official announcement of the 2014 Scores!

Leapfrog's Annual Meeting
December 2: Arlington, VA

Register now for Leapfrog's Annual Meeting - Beyond Partisanship: Strategies for Fast Improvement in American Healthcare. Leapfrog Top Hospital Awards will be given to the highest performing hospitals on the Leapfrog Hospital Survey.

The Leapfrog Group is a coalition of public and private purchasers of employee health benefits founded a decade ago to work for improvements in healthcare safety, quality, and affordability. Leapfrog purchaser members use hospital survey results in contracting, open enrollment with their employees and other public reporting, benefits design, and value-based purchasing programs.  The Leapfrog Hospital Survey focuses on three critical areas of patient safety and quality: how patients fare, which includes issues like mortality for common high-risk surgeries and procedures; resources used to care for patients measured by length of stay and readmission rates; and management practices that promote safety and quality, such as adopting computerized physician order entry to reduce medication errors.
