We just received new work from Suzy Landa and Sheila Stillman and would love to give you a peek at their newest creations. Please click on the photos to see more of their work.

Sheila Stillman
Sheila is best known for her granulation work in 22k gold. Here, she has combined Sleeping Beauty Turquoise with Oxidized Argentium Sterling Silver, and 22k gold granulation. Beautiful!

These lovely kinetic earrings are a bit of a departure for Sheila. She calls them pinstripe earrings. They are Argentium Sterling Silver with 22k gold stripes. The movement when they are worn is wonderful!

Suzy Landa
Suzy Landa's newest designs are, as usual, fabulous. Beautifully crafted in 18k gold, these earrings feature a double hoop with diamonds in the top beaded hoop. They are spectacular! Oh, and there is a necklace to match.

This photograph does not do justice to the fire in the Australian Opal that is the centerpiece of this necklace by Suzy Landa. It is set in 18k Rose Gold, and surrounded by diamonds. Wow.

Many of our customers are aware of Alison's (Handscape's owner) love for Turkey and the people of that beautiful country. We recently found this gorgeous jewelry. Though we are an American Craft Gallery, we simply could not resist this. I think you will agree.

MERAL SARTEKIN was born in 1960 in Akhisar, a rural village in Turkey. The free spirited, independent young woman left her country to study abroad in Zurich, Switzerland where she married Halil and gave birth to their daughter.

In 1992 the couple founded Kelim, a boutique specializing in handmade goods from their native Turkey. Meral and Halil began designing jewelry inspired by the beautiful patterns in the traditional Turkish carpets and the natural beauty of their adopted country, Switzerland.

After the success of their first wholesale trade show, the couple focused solely on designing and producing the Kelim Jewelry Collection. Together with their nephew, Gultekin, they established an atelier in Istanbul, where a team of highly trained craftsmen bring each design to life.

Amy Brown Salter of Esprit de Camp

Esprit de Camp is a new collection of jewelry that reflects Amy's commitment to using post- consumer metals, upcycled beads, findings, and torch fired enamel. Each piece is a unique, one of a kind creation. Her designs are often based on ancient motifs and retro patterns. 





Amy cuts, hammers, shapes, and fires each piece individually. She then use files and buffers to clean and bevel each piece before putting it in its setting.  Scrap and post-consumer copper is her favorite medium and a joy to rework. Although it is a semiprecious metal, it feels organic as it heats and bends, changes color and accepts a new covering.

Amy integrates her own handmade paper beads as well as glass and crystal beads. The nature of Amy's creations reflect the presence of sustainable materials that she has transformed from one form and one purpose into something with a new identity and beauty. We believe that wearing Esprit de Camp reflects a commitment to preserving the Earth for generations to come.
