Greetings!
"The first week of August hangs at the very top of summer, the top of the live-long year, like the highest seat of a Ferris wheel when it pauses in its turning. The weeks that come before are only a climb from balmy spring, and those that follow a drop to the chill of autumn, but the first week of August is motionless, and hot. It is curiously silent, too, with blank white dawns and glaring noons, and sunsets smeared with too much color."

Terri Lefler
Terri Lefler

Terri Lefler is captivated by the synergy created by raw sheet metal and wire as they come to life with the aid of torch, tools and imagination. Her work continues to be influenced by her experience as a Landscape Architect and by her study of the classical and natural geometries in ancient design practices and nature. This Sacred Geometry is her foundation on which balance and beauty is crafted into art.

Terri has been a designer for 20 years. In 1991, she received her Masters degree from the College of Design at North Carolina State University and built a successful career as a Landscape Architect, thriving on the art and craft of detailed garden design.

Peridot and silver earrings

Intrigued by applying her skills to other forms of design, she re-focused her talents in 2002 to pursue other facets of creative expression. Beginning with a 2-year apprenticeship in a traditional stained glass studio, she moved from the architectural nature of stained glass to detailed glass and metal work pieces. Her fascination with fine metal work led her to study under a master metal smith which further refined her craft. She continues perfecting her techniques, and exploring new ones in her studio in Asheville, NC.

Silver bracelet with copper accents

With each piece of work, Terri strives to create balance between tone, texture, and form. Primarily using Argentium Sterling Silver* her work features accents of gemstones, copper, yellow and rose gold. Terri manipulates the metals using soldering, fusing, and forging techniques and further enhances the details with various surface finishes such as brushed, polished or oxidation.

*Argentium Sterling Silver is a modern sterling silver alloy. It differs from the traditional sterling silver alloy (92.5% silver + 7.5% copper) by replacing some of the copper with a rare metallic element called germanium. Germanium is highly resistant to tarnishing giving the silver a brighter and longer lasting finish.

Logan Louis

Logan Louis

North Carolina jewelry artist Logan Louis works out of his Greenville, NC studio.  However, he gets a lot of his inspiration from the coast, where he maintains a second home.

Logan Louis
Oleander Pendant

Logan collects and casts specimens from nature. These organic objects become his raw materials. The leaves that he finds on the ground in North Carolina along the Tar River and especially the oleander leaves near his condo in Atlantic Beach have recently become the main focus of Logan's work.

Oleander bracelet

Logan prepares the leaves, and burns them out, creating a mold into which he casts sterling silver or gold, so that the end product is solid metal.  It is a similar process to lost wax casting, substituting the leaves for wax.

Silver Oleander Earrings

Long, elegant oleander leaves can be carefully annealed, formed and connected to create beautiful cuffs, rings, earrings and necklaces.
