Seema Agarwal-Harding, a US citizen and resident of Maryland, is inspired by the colors, patterns and designs of her native India, and the city of Jaipur where she was born. She holds a doctorate in education from the University of London and has traveled and worked all over the world as a career diplomat, focusing on humanitarian and international eduction development projects for the United Nations, non-governmental organizations and US Agency for International Development.

Iris Scarf

With a passion for art, she has taken art classes at the University of Maryland College of Art, and enjoys doing watercolor, ceramics and fabric art. She finds time to pursue her passion for art wherever she goes, incorporating art and cultures of the countries where she travels and lives for periods of her time.

Plum Paisley Scarf

Currently, she is spending half of her time in Indonesia, where she has been inspired by the strong traditions of batik art, and the hindu culture of the beautiful island of Bali. Her scarves are inspired by these motifs and colors and depict the rich tones, sounds, movements, and patterns inherent in these traditions.

Each scarf is meticulously batiked on heavy, rich silk, with hand rolled hems.  They are truly beautiful!
