Student Action Board Seniors Honored

MAAV's Student Action Board, a dynamic group of peer leaders from Melrose High School, is saying goodbye to six graduating seniors this year. Alyssa Abbott, Samantha Barb, Annalisa DeBari, Lilah Drafts-Johnson, Rebecca Kranz, and Delaney Morris were honored at the recent MHS Awards Night.

Samantha Barb, pictured here with MAAV's Rebecca Mooney, received the 5th annual Rita M. Downey Award for Social Justice. This award and scholarship is named for a founding member of MAAV who was a passionate advocate for victims of domestic violence and worked tirelessly to promote social justice throughout her life. The award is presented annually to an MHS senior who embodies those same qualities of compassion, dedication, and leadership by example.
