SHOVEL YOUR FIRE HYDRANT
Homewood's Fire Department requests Village residents to please shovel the fire hydrant in front of or adjacent to their property. Hydrants which are buried by snow take time to locate and dig out in an emergency. Every second counts during a fire emergency. |
WATER METER REPLACEMENT PROGRAM
Residents will be receiving a letter with information about the Water Meter Replacement Program. The Village of Homewood will be starting the implementation of the water meter replacement, which will take place over the next several months. The purpose of the Water Meter Replacement Program is to replace the majority of the 6,700 water meters within the Village as they are over 20 years old and have exceeded their useful life and to move toward a monthly water bill for residents rather than one every quarter. Many of our residents have inquired about switching to a monthly water bill and the new meter will make this possible by automatically transmitting readings to the Village. The new system will overall improve accuracy, customer service and efficiency for all. Click here for more information about Homewood's Water Meter Replacement Program. |
