ANTIQUE AND VINTAGE CARS TO TRAVEL HISTORIC DIXIE HIGHWAY
The Homewood Heritage Committee will host its 12th Annual Drivin' the Dixie, which links Blue Island to Momence.
The 12th annual Drivin' the Dixie will be held on Saturday, June 15. The annual "Cruise" starts in Blue Island and ends in Momence. Car enthusiasts travel the historic route, stopping at towns along Dixie Highway for free family fun, activities, raffles, food, and entertainment.
The public is invited to a viewing of antique and vintage cars in Homewood at 9:00 AM in the parking lot at St. Paul's Church (18200 Dixie Highway).
"Model A Fords to the sleek designs of the present will be polished and ready to show off on Saturday, says Heritage Committee Chair and co-organizer Elaine Egdorf. "Registration is still open for anyone wanting to join the cruise. No need to have a classic car to drive and participate in the fun along the route. This is a great way to pack up the family for a day trip."
