The League of Women Voters of the Homewood-Flossmoor Area is sponsoring a candidate forum for the Flossmoor
Elementary School District 161 on Tuesday evening, April 2 at 7:00 PM at Parker Junior High School (2810 School Street) in Flossmoor. There are five candidates competing for four vacant seats. The Leagues of Women Voters of the Homewood-Flossmoor Area and the Park Forest Area and the Student Government Association of Prairie State College are co-sponsoring a candidate forum for the six candidates running to fill the two vacant seats on the Prairie State College Board. The candidates vying to fill the two positions are: Charles Derringer, Joelle Mulhearn, Margaret Donohue, Linda Uzzureau, Mary Madden-Cifelli and Jacqueline Agee.
The general election is Tuesday, April 9. The two Leagues will provide an impartial moderator that is not a resident of the Prairie State College District to coordinate the event.
The Prairie State College candidate forum will be held on Thursday, April 4 at 7:00 PM in the auditorium of the college located at Halsted Street and Vollmer Road in Chicago Heights.
The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. ID BRACELET PROGRAM | | |
The Village offers ID bracelets for seniors and disabled persons. To receive an ID bracelet, the individual must complete an application that includes the following information: full name, address, emergency contact, current medications, physician's information, and current health problems. This information, along with a digital photograph is entered into a secure database.
Bracelets are issued by appointment only at a cost of $5.00. Call the Police Records Department at (708) 206-3420, press option #3 to make an appointment. |
