January IRS news 
January 2013 IRS news for tax professionals includes information and updates about proposed regulations on the 0.9 percent Additional Medicare Tax, tax obligations for forming a LLC and new 3.8 percent Net Investment Income Tax.

Who wants FREE conference registration?
Join a Conference Planning Task Force, and you'll receive free conference registration ($300-$400 value depending on conference). You'll also receive valuable interaction with peers, speakers and vendors to build your professional network, leadership skill development, and recognition for your WICPA involvement. 

Wisconsin's nonprofits need you
Begin the new year by helping a nonprofit by serving on its board of directors or assisting with its accounting issues. View a list of nonprofits that are in need of these and other pro-bono services.

FREE money for college
Do you know an accounting student who could use FREE money? Tell them about the College Scholarship Program, sponsored by the WICPA Educational Foundation. Students in their fifth year of study and working toward the 150-hour requirement to sit for the CPA Exam have a chance to receive up to $5,000. Eligible applicants will also be entered to win a set of exam review flash cards from Becker CPA Exam Review. The deadline is Thursday, Feb. 28.
