The Center for Business & Industry is very fortunate to have several great facilitators providing hands-on, personal and interactive training programs; not the least of which is Ann Haggerty Raines. As Ann approaches her 25th anniversary as an adjunct faculty member at Northampton Community College, we wanted to share some of the things that make Ann so important to our organization.
Ann started her career as an English teacher in the Bethlehem Area School District. She has been known to say, "Old English teachers never die, you just wish they would." It's with this quirky, self-deprecating, lovable sense of humor that Ann draws you in to engage, challenge and interact during every training session.
Ann's work at the Center for Business & Industry focuses on performance management and management development skills, as well as communications and customer service skills. Some of the workshops and business areas in which Ann has designed and delivered training include;Communication Skills for Managers, Building High Performance Teams / Team Building, First Line Supervision / Management Skills and Customer Relations/Service.
Ann also has extensive experience as a trainer in quality improvement. Ann is certified by PQ Systems, Dayton, Ohio as an Authorized Trainer of Trainers/Consultant in Total Quality Transformation, which is a quality improvement process based on the work of W. Edwards Deming. It includes a customer-driven philosophy as a base, cross-functional team development and decision making tools (statistical analysis and group communication).
Ann has a long track record of service to the Lehigh Valley. From 1999 to the present, Ann has served on the Board of Directors for Celtic Fest, Inc., and served as President from 2007 - 2010. From 1979 to the present, Ann has served on the Board of Directors of the Junior League of Lehigh Valley, where she was named Outstanding Volunteer, 1989 and President from 1995-96. For these and several other services to her community, Ann was given the Marcia L. Sayre Award for Community Service in 2005.
For these and many other reasons, the Center for Business & Industry is lucky to have Ann on board. If you haven't already, we invite you to witness for yourself why Ann is such a valued team member. You'll see that her personal touch separates her and CBI from any other training provider.
