DOWNTOWN REVITALIZATION
|
JEDC responded to citizen concerns about downtown Juneau's declining popularity by rallying stakeholders and residents to set clear goals and develop action plans. Working toward a central vision that Juneau Borough residents utilize the downtown area as the primary year-round hub for living, leisure, government and business, the group set three specific action initiatives on which to focus: - Increase Amount of Downtown Housing
- Improve Downtown Streetscape
- Develop a Downtown Circulator
JEDC facilitates meetings for these groups, connects with CBJ officials on concerns, brings insight and education to the process, and makes resources available to the group and the community. Visit our website for more in-depth information about Juneau's downtown revitalization, download a synopsis of revitalization history, or read the recent three-part Juneau Empire article on the Willoughby District. To get involved with the downtown revitalization effort, please contact JEDC!
