SUNDAY, MARCH 13: THE ANNUAL EASTER CANDY SALE ENDS TODAY. Once again Birnn Chocolates of Highland Park is supplying the candy, the sale of which benefits our Church School programs. Orders may be placed today, and will be available for pickup on Palm Sunday, March 20. Order forms will be available in the back of the church and in the Nicholas room during Coffee Hour. Orders must be paid in full when placed (checks should be made out to Christ Church). Please see or contact Margaret Brown-Stansbury (732.873.2693) for more information.

SUNDAY, MARCH 13: CHRIST CHURCH IS HOSTING THE HOMELESS SHELTER this week, March 13-19. We are still in need at least two volunteers on Friday, March 25, to serve as overnight hosts-arriving at the Church around 7 p.m. and leaving the next morning. Each night there will be approximately 15 men staying in the auditorium, while the hosts spend the night in the Choir room/loft area. If you are able to fill this important ministry please contact Bob Chant at [email protected] or 732.586.9896. There is a sign-up sheet in the back of the Church.

SUNDAY, MARCH 13: THE RITE OF RECONCILIATION is the sacramental rite in which those who repent may confess their sins to God in the presence of a priest and receive the assurance of pardon and the grace of absolution (BCP, p. 861). It is also called penance and confession. The church's ministry of reconciliation is from God, "who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation" (2 Cor 5:18). The ministry of reconciliation has been committed by Christ to the church. It is exercised through the care each Christian has for others, through the common prayer of Christians assembled for public worship, and through the priesthood of the church and its ministers declaring absolution (BCP, p. 446). The Reconciliation of a Penitent is not limited to times of sickness. Confessions may be heard at any time and any place, but we are especially inviting you to consider it during this holy season of Lent. If you are interested, please contact Rev. Joanna for an appointment ([email protected]; 732.545.6262).

SUNDAY, MARCH 13: CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR OWN Penelope E. Lattimer, Ph.D., who was honored by American Repertory Ballet on Tuesday, March 8, for her guidance and support in establishing DANCE POWER.  DANCE POWER is the longest continuously running community/arts partnership in New Jersey, serving more than 1,500 New Brunswick students each year. Read more about it at http://www.christchurchnewbrunswick.org/.../03/08/dance-power/.

SUNDAY, MARCH 13: THE FELLOWSHIP COMMITTEE IS LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS to provide baked goods and/drinks for our Easter Sunday brunch. There is a sign-up sheet in the back of the church, or you can contact Beverly Stott at 732.896.4933 or [email protected].

SUNDAY, MARCH 13: THE FOOD PANTRY NEEDS A VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR to start soon. Training is available; the only qualification needed is a desire to help our neighbors in need. Work your own schedule using fax, emails, and phone (land line optional). Contact Doug Wilson ([email protected], or Andrea Treadwell ([email protected]) with your start date

THURSDAY, MARCH 17: DUE TO HOLY WEEK, THERE IS AN EARLY CLOSE CALL DEADLINE this month. Items for the April newsletter are now due on Thursday, March 17, at 9 a.m. Please submit your articles to [email protected], or leave them in the Parish office in Julia Utz's mailbox.

WEDNESDAYS IN LENT, PLEASE JOIN US FOR Meditation and Holy Eucharist in the church at 9:15 a.m.

BRIAN BREEN IS DISPLAYING HIS PHOTOGRAPHS in the new exhibition space in the Nicholas Room for the next few weeks. Some cards are available for purchase (part of the proceeds go to the church), and special order forms are available to order your own prints and/or cards. To arrange a showing of work, please contact Rev. Joanna at 732.545.6262 or [email protected].

FREE PARKING VOUCHERS are available for the Lower Church Street parking deck next to the church grounds. Please see an usher for a voucher and instructions. Tip: To avoid problems at the gate, go to the pay-on-foot machines and use your Christ Church voucher there. New Instruction sheets are available from an usher.

WHERE IS THE MINISTERS OF THE LITURGY LIST? The Ministers of the Liturgy section of the Parish Notes is now on the penultimate page of the document. Liturgical Ministers and all who are involved in various activities related to Sunday services should be on the lookout for a new ePistle that is sent out weekly with the same information that formerly appeared at the bottom of the weekly email blast. Any questions, please contact Julia in the Parish office.

JUST A REMINDER THAT THERE IS A LIVE FEED of the service in the Nursery (located near the Parish Offices) for those parents or guardians who might choose to take their children there during services.

IF YOU NEED A RIDE TO CHURCH
