UPCOMING EVENTS & NEWS

SUNDAY, MARCH 6: THE ANNUAL EASTER CANDY SALE BEGINS TODAY. Once again Birnn Chocolates of Highland Park is supplying the candy, the sale of which benefits our Church School programs. Orders may be placed today, and next Sunday, March 13; and will be available for pickup on Palm Sunday, March 20. Order forms will be available in the back of the church and in the Nicholas room during Coffee Hour. Orders must be paid in full when placed (checks should be made out to Christ Church). Please see or contact Margaret Brown-Stansbury (732.873.2693) for more information.

SUNDAY, MARCH 13: DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME BEGINS. Please remember to set your clocks ahead one hour.

CHRIST CHURCH WILL BE HOSTING THE HOMELESS SHELTER the week of March 13-19. This shelter serves the needs of New Brunswick's homeless population that exceeds the capacity of the permanent shelter during the winter months. Christ Church and seven other houses of worship have been participating in this program for over 20 years. For this to work at Christ Church we will need at least two volunteers to serve as overnight hosts-arriving at the Church around 7 p.m. and leaving the next morning. Each night there will be approximately 15 men staying in the auditorium, while the hosts spend the night in the Choir room/loft area. If you are able to fill this important ministry please contact Bob Chant at chant@marine.rutgers.edu or 732.586.9896. There is a sign-up sheet in the back of the Church.

BRIAN BREEN IS NOW DISPLAYING HIS PHOTOGRAPHS in the new exhibition space in the Nicholas Room. The display will be up for the next couple of weeks; some cards are available for purchase (part of the proceeds go to the church), and special order forms will also be available for you to order your own prints and/or cards. If you would like to share your talent with the parish, or know a talented person who would like to participate, please contact Rev. Joanna at 732.545.6262 or rector@christchurchnewbrunswick.org.

ADDITIONAL SUPPORT IS NEEDED FOR MCFOODS PICKUPS for the Food Pantry on Tuesdays or Wednesdays for a 1 1/2-hour commitment between 8-10:30 a.m. If you are interested in providing help for this activity, please contact the Food Pantry Coordinator, Doug Wilson, at 732.257.4427.

ARTISTS WANTED! Are you a painter, quilter, needle artist, photographer or any other kind of awesome artist that might want to share your talent with the parish? We would like to offer the wall space on the chapel end of the Nicholas Room to do monthly displays of art from parishioners and the local community. There may even be an opportunity for you to sell your art (with, of course, some percentage being donated to the church)! If you are interested or know someone who might be interested, please contact Rev. Joanna at 732.545.6262 or rector@christchurchnewbrunswick.org

FREE PARKING VOUCHERS are available for the Lower Church Street parking deck next to the church grounds. Please see an usher for a voucher and instructions. Tip: To avoid problems at the gate, go to the pay-on-foot machines and use your Christ Church voucher there. New Instruction sheets are available from an usher.

WHERE IS THE MINISTERS OF THE LITURGY LIST? The Ministers of the Liturgy section of the Parish Notes is now on the penultimate page of the document. Liturgical Ministers and all who are involved in various activities related to Sunday services should be on the lookout for a new ePistle that is sent out weekly with the same information that formerly appeared at the bottom of the weekly email blast. Any questions, please contact Julia in the Parish office.

JUST A REMINDER THAT THERE IS A LIVE FEED of the service in the Nursery (located near the Parish Offices) for those parents or guardians who might choose to take their children there during services.

IF YOU NEED A RIDE TO CHURCH
for an upcoming worship service or other church activity, please call Julia Utz, Parish Administrator, at the Parish Office 732.545.6262 and let her know which service or other activity for which you would like a ride, as well as your pickup location.

WEEKLY PUBLICATION DEADLINES: Please keep in mind that information you would like included in our weekly publications needs to be submitted in a timely fashion so our Parish Administrator has enough time to edit. For printed Parish Notes, the deadline is Wednesday at 11 a.m.; for the weekly e-mail blast, please submit by Thursday at noon. Thank you for your cooperation.

THE EPISCOPAL CHURCH WELCOMES RUTGERS! Canterbury House is a place for you to find Christian community, deepen your understanding of God in Christ, and grow spiritually. Canterbury House is located at 5 Mine Street, College Avenue Campus.
