The Indian Craft Shop is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30p.m., and the third Saturday of the month from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Shop is closed on federal holidays.
VISITING US
A photo ID is needed for entrance to the building. During weekdays, visitors may use either the C Street or E Street entrances (E Street is closed for Metro riders). Handicap access ramps are available at both entrances. During Saturday hours, visitors must use the C Street entrance.
Public Transportation
Farragut West (Blue and Orange Line) and Farragut North (Red Line) are the closest metro stops. It is a six-block walk, or you can ride an 80 or S1 bus to 19th and C streets. There is metered parking on the street and several parking lots within a few blocks.

The jingling on the street corners and the red, green, silver and blue decorations let us know that the holidays are here and we are entering the final leg of the shopping journey for 2014. Avoid the crush of the shopping malls with a trip to the Indian Craft Shop. There is no concern that you will be giving a duplicate gift with the handmade, unique pieces you will find here! It's a great way to show your support for small businesses, to buy American handmade and...when you give the gift of culture and history, you are giving a gift that will last a lifetime as well as possibly sparking an interest in fascinating and varied artistic traditions.

Wonderful pieces from both new and existing artists have arrived in the Shop; you'll find an eclectic and beautiful assortment of jewelry, pottery, carvings, rugs, leather work and folk art.

 

  

Some of our new items include parfleche boxes, envelope purses and even a quiver, all made from elk rawhide and soft deerskin trim and fringe. If you can't make the trip to the Shop, visit our online store, which has a nice sampling of our available items.

And, don't forget yourself this holiday season! While you are working to make everyone else happy, remember that they want you to be happy as well. Add some interesting diversity to your seasonal decor with a sand painting or wood carved ornament, or a Nativity scene made from clay or carved wood.
