We welcome the New Year and extend our wishes to all of you for a happy, healthy and prosperous 2014. With the very cold weather and snow, we hope you have been safe and warm and perhaps have even found some inside home projects to keep you busy. At the Shop, we have been reflecting on the past year's anniversary celebration and thank all of the artists, customers and supporters who joined us. With the New Year, we are also preparing for our Annual Sale, recruiting for open positions at the Shop and beginning our 2014 planning so it's a busy time!

Positions Open at The Indian Craft Shop |
The New Year at the Shop has brought changes, with people leaving to start new chapters in their lives. All of you know how special and unique The Indian Craft Shop is and how important it is to have the right individuals to fill the key staff positions. The philosophy at the Shop has always been to enrich people's lives - all visitors, artists, customers, and the individuals working here. We have begun recruiting and reach out to all of you, as often our most loyal staff people have come from our own network of customers and Shop patrons - people who know about the Shop, our representation, our standards, and the quality of our outreach.
Assistant manager and Web sales associate positions are open - both positions require strong organizational, computer and communication skills, and a dedication to the arts with a commitment to continuing to learn about the world of American Indian art. The assistant works closely with the manager on day to day operations, inventory management, accounting, marketing, and customer and artist relations.
The Web sales associate has a primary focus on the Web store - handling art, writing descriptions and working in PhotoShop and Excel. Both positions include sales floor duties, display work, working with customers online, developing artist bios, and working as a team member in marketing and event planning.
Positions can be applied for online via Guest Services, Inc. You also may contact Susan Pourian, Shop director, at 202-208-4056 or pourians@guestservices.com if you have any questions concerning these job openings.
