Hello all!
I would like to take this opportunity to formally introduce myself. My name is Scott LaScala and I am the Director of Corporate Operations. I have met some of you and some I have not.
I joined Prestige in February of 2014, but it has been in my DNA since day one as my father (Ron) and step-mom (Anita) took over in 1993. I have been privy to all things travel since then and I have to say I am a big fan. My career started in the banking industry working for a major credit card company for almost 10 years before transitioning to legal services for another 8 years. Both very good fields, but nowhere near as fun, exciting and refreshing as the travel industry. I needed a change and fortunately there was a tremendous opportunity for me at Prestige.
Here I am today with almost two years in and I have learned so much in such a short period of time. We are gearing up to have a stellar 2016 and we are all so happy that you are part of the Prestige family. We look forward to working with you to make your travel business or travel hobby the best it can be.
I personally wish you and your family a very happy holiday season. I would like to leave you with some of my favorite quotes which will define Prestige in the coming year:
"Going beyond what is required and doing more than is expected is what quality is all about. It is setting and maintaining the highest standards, pursuing the smallest detail, and persistently following through. Quality means doing things right every time. Quality means customer satisfaction."

With the Holiday Season upon us, I want to express how thankful I am to work with many great Prestige Agents! Being part of our Agent Support Department gives me the opportunity to connect with almost all our agents one time or another. The enthusiasm our agents have for travel makes coming to work fun! I'm able to hear about amazing vacation adventures, breathtaking destination spots, and the excitement in our agents' voices when they book their first travel clients or when someone asks them to be part of planning their honeymoon, family reunion or group travel! We are always enhancing our Agent Program to ensure our Prestige Agents have all the tools and resources to be successful. Our Agent Only Internet Portal, www.hometravelagent.com, provides you with the information you need to access these tools and resources so it is important that you check www.hometravelagent.com regularly. Here are some tools and resources I find very useful for our Prestige Agents: - Prestige NetAdvantage Program which allows access to travel agent only websites for cruise lines and tour companies such as Norwegian Central, Princess OneSource and VaxVacation Access
- Agent Universe which includes an agent only access to Cruise Pro and a marketing Engagement Program
- MarketEase is an Email Marketing tool for travel agents
- Webinars and Training Events/FAMS offered by Prestige and/or our travel supplier partners to educate you on travel products and destinations
- Online training courses through Travel Agent Academy, Travel University and Recommend.com
- Expedia TAAP for price match situations
All these tools and resources can be found in our Agent Only Internet Portal, www.hometravelagent.com or you may call our Agent Support Team at 800-940-8801 for more information. We are continually adding new services and programs to our Agent Program because of our commitment to help and support our Prestige Agents. We want you all to have a successful and profitable travel business for the New Year! We are always interested in hearing from you so please give us your feedback and comments by emailing me directly at annette@ptstravel.com. I want to thank you all for your involvement with Prestige Agent Network. We value all your efforts and dedication!
This holiday season, celebrate with your loved ones and be merry! And for 2016, remember to Dream, Discover, Connect!

Hello to All and Happy 2016!
By: Lena Cleary, Director of Air, Cars, Hotels & Tours
We hope everyone has a happy and safe holiday season! We had another great year in the Air & Tour department - thanks to all of you, our Prestige Agents! Our overall sales were up again in 2015 and we were able to maintain our preferred status with Globus and Cosmos and exceeded expectations with Funjet Vacations!
More and more people are seeking the advice of travel agents - and not just for those once-in-a-lifetime vacations. We're also seeing a lot of repeat business from clients of our Prestige Agents booking trips to new and exciting destinations. This, of course, is great news for you and your business!
Weekly condo vacation rentals are a great way to earn commission, especially for families who may need some extra amenities that standard hotel rooms may not be able to provide (such as separate bedrooms, living and dining areas, kitchen/kitchenette, etc.) and at a fraction of the cost. Condo accommodations are also a great option for clients who are looking for those last-minute deals close to home. We're surprised more agents are not taking advantage of these special offers. Weekly rates start as low as $200! So, be sure to contact Renae at 800-359-0517 ext. 339 for more information and rates. Your clients will appreciate the extra space at a great price!
Don't forget to check www.HomeTravelAgent.com often for any important updates and announcements as well as information regarding training sessions and "fam" trips. Learning about and experiencing new products and/or destinations can be an integral part of maintaining and expanding your client base.
Your success is vital to ours and we want to make sure that you have all of the necessary tools to achieve it. To reward that success, we are pleased to announce our newest booking contest - where every agent wins! All agents who book a minimum 4-night air inclusive package with hotel with either Funjet Vacations, Blue Sky Tours, Southwest Vacations or United Vacations by May 13, 2016, will receive a $50 dining card from Restaurant.com. The agent who has the most bookings will win up to $500 in hotel savings. Please email the booking number, lead passenger's name, and tour company the reservation was made through to tours@goprestigetravel.com.
We wish you all a safe and prosperous 2016!

20 Years with Prestige
By: Pamela Evans, Director of Finance
This has been my 20th year with Prestige Travel. I cannot believe how the time has flown by. I have experienced many changes during these years. There were moves from Lois and Kennedy in Tampa to Gunn Highway and now to our present location on Busch Blvd. This spot is by far the nicest. It has enabled us to unite all departments not only under one roof but to create a family atmosphere. We can reach out to each other when the need is there and be able to assist as needed.
As I look forward to 2016, I wish we can continue to create exciting trips for our clients, programs to enrich our employees and agents, and smooth sailing in all our endeavors. May your holiday and New Year be full of happiness and good health.

Royal Caribbean's Hometown Hero
Royal Caribbean Cruises held a "Hometown Hero" contest in October. Royal Caribbean wanted to recognize that there are heroes all around us. People who inspire us, motivate us, and challenge the world to be a better place. Travel Agents across the country were asked to help celebrate the heroes in their life. Agents had to write a brief essay explaining what makes one of their clients a hometown hero in order to enter the contest. The prize was an all-expenses paid trip for the travel agent and his/her nominee for Hometown Hero with up to 3 guests each to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. On October 20th, Vicki Freed, Royal Caribbean's Senior Vice President, Sales, Trade Support and Service announced the winner of the Hometown Hero contest was Blair Israel. The travel agent that submitted the entry was our very own Prestige Agent, David Pachtman! Blair Israel started "The Blair Share Project" to help homeless and recovering drug addicts in her community. Blair collects, washes and irons business suits to enable these men to get back into the workforce. David, Blair, and their guests stayed at the Warwick New York Hotel and David and Blair each received a $1000 AMEX gift card. At the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade they were in the Grand Stand Seats right in front of Macy's. Awesome VIP seats! We are so happy that David Pachtman recognized Blair Israel and that she was chosen as Royal Caribbean's Hometown Hero! And thank you, Blair, for what you do for your community! Congratulations to both David Pachtman and Blair Israel!

Happy Holidays and Have A Very Merry Christmas!!!
By: Margaret Ayers, Agent Support Specialist
I would like to share a couple of Fabulous FAM Trips I had the pleasure of attending as a Prestige Agent this year.
The first was in my home town of Tampa, Florida. In May, many Prestige Agents joined the Prestige Staff and our Cruise/Tour/Travel Partners for a weekend of Training and Fun!!! We stayed at the Hilton Westshore with great accommodations. Friday night, we had a Cruise Night Cocktail Party and received information from several cruise lines such as Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Carnival, Norwegian, and MSC Cruises. Saturday was a day of training from our Preferred Suppliers to educate us of all the ways to assist our travel clients. Then on Sunday, we visited St Pete Beach to inspect several hotels. We had a superb lunch at the Famous Hurricane Restaurant. The Hurricane Restaurant's top level had fabulous views of our Florida Beaches so many photos were taken while there! Visit Prestige Agent Network Facebook page to see some of our FAM photos!

In November, I attended my 2nd 2015 Prestige FAM/training event in New Orleans. It was a land FAM and Cruise. We stayed at the Blake Hotel on St. Charles St. and went on various city tours. We learned a lot of New Orleans' history and experienced what this wonderful city has to offer! After our weekend in the city of New Orleans, we set sail on the Carnival Elation. We visited ports in Cozumel, Mexico and Yucatan (Progreso), Mexico.

Prestige New Orleans Cruise aboard the Carnival Elation
FAM trips, like the two I attended this year, help you sell to your clients with ease. You are able to learn something first hand, which is one of the best ways to learn! Meeting all the Prestige Agents was one of my favorite parts of our FAMs. Agents came from different areas of the US and was able to take home good information for their clients.
I truly believe every agent should go to at least one FAM trip or agent training event!!!
I would like to wish everyone a wonderful holiday season! Merry Christmas and I hope to meet you at the next FAM!

My Disney Wonder Hawaii Cruise
By: Ellen Puertos, Prestige Travel Consultant
Labor Day weekend I flew to Vancouver to spend one night before my 10 night Disney Wonder Hawaii cruise. We stayed at the luxurious Fairmont Pacific Rim right down the street from the cruise terminal. We had perfect weather and shopped and dined in the famous Gas Town area a few blocks away. We boarded the ship in Vancouver with 5 glorious relaxing days at sea, and then on to Hilo, Kauai, Maui, and Honolulu with Mickey and friends. Our first stop was Hilo where we visited the local farmers market and took a helicopter ride over the volcano. Next was Kauai (my favorite island) where we visited the waterfall where they filmed Fantasy Island, gasped over the spouting of the famous blowhole, and then on to the amazing beauty of the Grand Canyon of the Pacific which is the Waimea Canyon. We saw 5 different rainbows that day. On Maui we went to the Kaanapali Coast to soak up rays on the beach and finished up at the Hard Rock Café at the old quaint fishing village of Lahaina after shopping for unique treasures. The ship over nighted in Honolulu and we spent 2 additional nights in Waikiki. Surprise--we arrived in Oahu with a tsunami warning from the earthquake in Chile!
We had a beautiful starry night at Germaine's luau, snorkeled Waikiki Beach, and took a full island tour. We got to experience Hanama Bay State Park with NO visitors as the park was closed due to the tsunami warning. What a beautiful pristine spot to snorkel and swim. I highly recommend this bucket list itinerary with Disney or any Disney cruise in general. They are in a class all by themselves with their impeccable service and onboard activities. As Walt would say "All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them".

A Journey into the past....
By: Lynette Cloran, Prestige Travel Consultant
This September my husband and I took off on a very ambitious trip with travel to 7 countries using a rental car, overnight ferry, train and cruise ship to travel. The trip was fantastic!!
We flew into Paris and traveled by car to Normandy first visiting the beautiful, fairytale like city of Rouen with its cobblestoned streets and half-timbered houses. We then drove to the awe inspiring Mont Saint Michel. This 12th century abbey was built on a rocky islet about ˝ mile from the coast and rises out of the bay above a small, tightly wound, walled medieval city. By day it is busy with tourists but when the sun goes down and day-trippers move on it is quiet and peaceful and shared with only a handful of others who are also lucky enough to have a room on the rock for the night. We continued our travels in Normandy, visiting the D-day landing beaches, the city of Bayeux with its centuries old tapestry and wrapped up our visit to Normandy with a fabulous dinner in an outdoor café on the water's edge in the lovely port town of Honfleur, which is the birthplace of Impressionism and a favorite subject of artists such as Claude Monet and Gustave Corbet. We then took an overnight ferry from Le Havre to Portsmouth, England. On the ferry we had a comfortable but sparse cabin with twin beds and a full bathroom. We departed France at 10:30pm and arrived in England at 5:45am. We put away our Euros and stocked up on British pounds, validated our British Rail pass and headed for Bath. Our British Rail pass allowed up to 8 days of travel within 30 days without reservations throughout England, Wales and Scotland. Bath was founded in the first century by the Romans. Over the following centuries it grew to become an elegant Georgian city and its natural thermal hot springs were thought to have curative powers. The city squares are enlivened with street entertainers and the city offers free walking tours that fill you in on the history and take you from the magnificent Bath Abbey and the Roman Baths to the elegant Royal Crescent. The following day we visited the 15th century Hampton Court Palace, a former castle of King Henry VIII. Walking within the halls of the palace you can feel the history of the palace and its former inhabitants. Tired and ready for a restful day we embarked on a 7 night cruise from London with Cruise and Maritime Voyages aboard the Magellan for the Scandinavian Castles and Fairytales cruise. The cruise took us to Amsterdam, with its beautiful canals and windmills and to Hamburg, where we took a boat ride on the River Elbe. The river had a sailing school and was filled with dozens of beautiful sailboats. From here we cruised to Helsingborg, Sweden with its wonderful architecture and then on to Copenhagen. Tivoli Gardens was closed but we enjoyed a guided walk through the city and took a canal tour to get a wonderful perspective of the lovely city followed by a little relaxation in a café under a heat lamp on the edge of the canal. Our last port was the beautiful and charming city of Aalborg. The food on board was delicious and the shows were very entertaining. The ports we visited were all beautiful and interesting and the cruise provided the rest we needed following our intensive and packed sightseeing tour. Back in London with additional days left on our British Rail Pass we headed for York, England. York is another walled, medieval city that is brimming with history. We walked along the city's wall, toured the amazing 13th century York Abbey and wandered through the quaint streets of the Shambles with its 14th century wood framed buildings. In the evening we took a guided tour that again mixed comedy and history and hated to leave York but the following day was to Edinburgh, Scotland and we still had much to look forward to! Edinburgh is a tourists dream! The train station is one block from the Royal Mile with many hotels to choose from in between. At one end of the Royal Mile the Edinburgh Castle looks down upon the city and at the other end of the Royal Mile is the Holyrood Palace, former home of Mary, Queen of Scots. In between are shops, great restaurants, street entertainers, sites that take you back centuries in time, and sites that propel you into the future such as the Camera Obscura. So sad, after Edinburgh it was time to head home. We had seen so many amazing sights, crossed many cities off of my bucket list of places to visit and created memories that will remain with me forever. In just a matter of days we can gain a better understanding of the lives and sacrifices and triumphs of those that passed before us than we would learn in years of study. The world is a fascinating place and I heartily encourage all to go out and see what they can find.
