YAKIMA VALLEY IN THE NEWS

Our work with travel media continues to produce news stories and features.  Recent examples:

• Yakima's Johnson Orchards was recently featured in the online article, "7 Places to Go Apple Picking in Western and Eastern Washington," reaching 53,490 unique monthly views.
• Yakima Valley Tourism worked to get Trailer Life Magazine to include our area in their article titled Autumn Across America, reaching 53,160 unique monthly views.
• Yakima Valley Museum & Cherry Wood Bed & Breakfast were featured in Canada.com article, Seeking science in Washington's Yakima Valley, reaching 1,844,880 unique monthly visitors. This resulted from a visit by the author to the area earlier this summer from our outreach efforts.
• Nancy Zafarro with the Real Food Traveler posted another feature about her stay in Yakima Valley, Treveri Cellars: Sparkling Wines from Washington's Yakima Valley, reaching 4,400 unique monthly visitors.

CONVENTION CENTER HAS SUCCESSFUL SEPTEMBER

The data is in and last month the Yakima Convention Center  was busy. The Center was occupied 88%, bringing the year to date occupancy to 60%. This is higher than the national average for convention centers our size. During the month the Center Operations staff did 423 room set ups. Congratulations Center staff!

YAKIMA VALLEY TOURISM 25TH ANNUAL HOLIDAY RECEPTION & SILENT AUCTION

You're invited! Yakima Valley Tourism is celebrating its 25th Annual Holiday Reception & Silent Auction with A Silver Celebration! Thursday, December 4 from 5-8pm at the Yakima Convention Center. Beautiful artwork will be featured along with the ever popular Raffle Drawing and the Silent Auction itself. Returning is the famous Candy Cane Lane and attendees are encouraged to dress up in their Silver best! Entry is $15 per person or $10 with a new, unwrapped toy for Toys For Tots.
