St. Stan's Receives St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Trust!

We are proud to announce that we are the recipient of a grant to benefit the enhancement of our academic programming. The grant will allow us to enrich our academic offerings in the following key areas:

In Science, we will be upgrading our science lab and materials as well as hiring a dedicated science lab teacher who will conduct hands-on science experiments across all grade levels. We will also be extending our existing robotics program with the purchase of additional robotics kits. Every student at the Academy will experience the excitement of science coming alive right before their eyes.

In Technology, we will be purchasing new laptops for the 6th, 7th, and 8th graders as well as installing a secure WiFi connection throughout the Academy. Students will be able to use the new laptops for class projects, presentations, and research. And not a moment too soon, we will also be upgrading the infrastructure that supports our Academy website, making it more stable and robust.

In Literacy, we are excited to extend classroom-leveled libraries to grades 3, 4, and 5. Each grade will be receiving a mobile cart filled with books that are a balanced selection of classic titles, with a variety of genres, authors, studies, and content areas. Each collection contains 50% nonfiction in order to expose students to a broad spectrum of books. The libraries are aligned to the common core.

In Language Arts, we will further support the Spanish language program, which was expanded this past September to include all grade levels, with additional learning resources. Spanish is the second most natively spoken language in the world, and our students will have access to additional materials to help them learn a new language.

In Scholarships, we want to ensure that the Academy remains affordable and accessible for all those who want to attend. We will, thus, be offering scholarships to families from our local parishes that belong to the Saint Stan's Academy cluster.

We are incredibly grateful to the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Trust for their generous donation. Their gift allows us to build upon the strong foundation provided by our dedicated principal, assistant principal, and teachers, further enhancing the educational value for our students.

Buddy Day for Catholic School Week!

We celebrated this week with Parent Open House, student Pajama day, our Walk-a-Thon, and Buddy Day! Different grades were given a "buddy" for an activity. Our PreK4 grade worked on snowflakes, and our Grades 3 and 4 worked on a Valentine Victorian Heart Project to learn about the history of this tradition while creating our own! All ages love having a mentor or being a mentor!

Science Fair Wizards

Grade 4 students worked diligently to finish their Science Fair Project Boards. The project included researching their topics in school, writing information that was aligned with the "Scientific Method" process, and displaying images and ideas that represented their chosen project. In doing so, the children gained a deeper understanding of the ideas researched, including the areas of Physical Science, Animal Science, and Health/Nutrition.
