Shoo Flu, Go Away!

It's that time of year again - when germs have a way of invading our homes and infecting us and our children. Here are a few tips to share with your children in the hopes of making this a disease-free season: stay home from school when they're sick; avoid close contact with people who are sick; wash their hands often with soap and water, especially after they cough or sneeze; avoid touching their eyes, nose, or mouth; and clean and disinfect surfaces or objects. 2nd Annual Cash Raffle to Support St. Stans!

This year, the proceeds of the St. Stans raffle will fund an upgraded Audio/Visual system for our auditorium. Tickets cost $20, and the cash prizes are $5,000 (first prize), $2,000 (second prize), and $1,000 (third prize) with only 2,500 tickets sold. If we sell all tickets, that will equate to $40,000 raised for our school! We will select the winners at our Family Fun Day on Sunday, June 14th. You do not need to be present in order to win. Tickets can be purchased at any upcoming event or by mailing a $20 money order or bringing cash to 12 Newell Street, Brooklyn, NY 11222.

Counting Principles

Prek-4 worked on a math lesson where each child was given a set of manipulatives. The children were asked to listen for a number, then count out that number of manipulatives. During this lesson, each child was assessed based on whether or not they were able to count out the correct number of manipulatives.

Puppet Tales

For their second Passport to Brooklyn Trip, Grade 2 experienced the magic of Puppetworks on December 16th where they watched two tales by Hans Christian Andersen. Both The Emperor's New Clothes and The Snow Queen were cleverly performed by marionettes that proved to be comical and enchanting, as well as exciting.
