A key Academy fundraising initiative is to  create leveled library in every classroom.  This will allow each grade to have the latest book  recommendations and to instill a lifelong love of reading for all of our students.  If you would like to donate to this initiative, please help us!

Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year!!

STUDENT NEWS

Computer Class News

Students in Computer Class are continuing to build keyboarding skills to improve typing speed and accuracy by using online typing tutorials and games, as well as typing programs.  Pre-K4 students are more proficient with the mouse and can now work on interactive games and stories with minimal help.  For November, Pre-K4 and Kindergarten students decorated turkeys online, while listening to interactive stories, and the older students are learning to use various features of Microsoft Word while typing documents about what they are most thankful for this season.

Native American Longhouse Project for the 4th grade!

This Social Studies project was part of the students' study of the Iroquois Nation and their lifestyle. Dwellings made of shoeboxes, twigs and leaves were "long" so that dozens of family members could all live together. Clan names were usually connected to an animal symbol which represented traits the family felt they acquired.
