Celebrating 15 Years! |
Thank you for the opportunity to serve the churches of Noonday Association for fifteen years. It does not seem possible that that amount of time has gone by since my family and I moved to Marietta to serve Noonday churches as Director of Missions.
It has been an honor and privilege to serve with the outstanding churches and church leaders in Noonday Association which are among the best in the Southern Baptist Convention. Noonday churches constantly amaze me with their creativity in reaching their communities and impacting the nation and the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The pastors of Noonday churches are some of the most outstanding church leaders in the country. Members of these churches are all across the globe volunteering in missions and sharing the Gospel message. It has been a blessing to partner with you.
Ann and I thank the churches for their recognition during the Annual Meeting and for the generous monetary gift presented to us by the Personnel Team. I also thank the Association for the beautiful crystal lighthouse. I placed it on my desk as a constant reminder of your generosity and as a symbol of the lighthouse for the Gospel that the churches of Noonday are locally, nationally and internationally.
Thank you, Larry Fillingim
"I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."

Disaster Relief |
"I just had to tell someone about the outstanding job the Disaster Relief Team is doing at my home," said Mrs. P. The team arrived early and went right to work on the tree damage around her home. They cut down five broken or split trees and cut up 7 or 8 trees that had fallen. Mrs. P was ecstatic about how these volunteers from Disaster Relief were willing and quick to respond to her need.
The volunteers were from both Burnt Hickory Baptist Church and Eastside Baptist Church. They were:
Bill VanSant, Bob Pippin, John Shipley, Don Grissom, Duane Jones, Mike Edwards
"And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ" Colossians 3:23-24. |
Storehouse Ministries |
Storehouse Ministries is a ministry of Noonday Baptist Association. It is primarily an emergency food pantry dependent on food and monetary donations from individuals and all churches in the Noonday Baptist Association. Funds must be specifically given to Storehouse Ministries. No regular church donations to Noonday Baptist Association are used by Storehouse Ministries.
If you know anyone needing food, have them call our client line at (770) 428-8410. Make sure they do not call the Association Office for food.
Storehouse Ministries are already planning ahead toward November and December regarding the food needed for our Thanksgiving and Christmas boxes. They are looking forward to helping 1000 families in need in the communities. Only through your help and involvement in this ministry will make it possible. Much planning is needed in order to have enough food on hand to pack 1000 boxes.
Please encourage your SS Classes or the church to begin planning your fall food drives in late October and early November. Global Hunger Relief Emphasis for the Southern Baptist Convention is Sunday, October 13. Also, soon to follow will be the fall food list.
The links below will give you more information regarding the Global Hunger Relief:
Also, many volunteers will be needed to pack boxes during that time as well. Call to schedule your group to assist us with packing. Don't forget that monetary donations can be made to the Bill Roger's Hunger Fund at Noonday Baptist Association for us to purchase food from the Atlanta Food Bank at the very best possible prices (when the food is available to purchase).
Storehouse at this has a very critical need for more phone intake persons. Please contact Karen Stevens at Noonday Baptist Association at (770) 422-3347.

Noonday churches that are giving faithfully are encouraged to continue their support. Churches that have decreased their giving are encouraged to prayerfully reconsider their support for Association Missions. Churches that are presently not giving are asked to consider contributing some amount to the ministry of strengthening churches and starting new churches as we work together to impact lostness in our mission field and nation.
