Happy June!

AVA's next exhibitions, which open on June 10, will feature displays in our four downstairs galleries -- the Rebecca Lawrence Gallery Entry, the Clifford B. West Gallery, the E.N. Wennberg Gallery, and the Elizabeth Rowland Mayor Gallery -- in the Johnson Sisters Library on the second floor, as well as outside, in Kira's Garden.

On June 2, AVA's plein air art table at the weekly Lebanon Farmers Market will resume for the season; as of June 16, weather permitting, we invite the community to enjoy creative activities in Colburn Park every Thursday afternoon throughout the summer.

Our summer program of classes and workshops begins on June 17, and AVA's amazing summer art camps, offered for nine consecutive weeks, will start on June 27.

Please read on and join in, and see you at AVA soon!

AVA at the Lebanon Farmers' Market

Lebanon's beautiful Colburn Park -- a mere stone's throw away from AVA -- is a favorite gathering place to come and enjoy all kinds of activities, especially during the summer time. We are delighted to continue being part of the weekly Thursday Farmers' Market (4:00-7:00pm) with our plein air studio and free art activities for children of all ages. Once again, from early June to late August, weather permitting, AVA's capable summer interns will be in charge of this high-spirited offering, adding yet another layer of color to this marvelous downtown venue.

And keep in mind that on Thursday evenings our gallery hours are extended until 7:00pm, so be sure to combine a stroll through Colburn Park with a visit to see what's on display at AVA!

Artist Studio Available in AVA's Carter-Kelsey Building

Since our previous eNewsletter, when we announced that three artist studios would be available at AVA this summer, only one -- on the third floor -- is still available. High ceilings, natural light, wooden floors, and a thriving community make our building an ideal site for your practice.

What is NH Gives Day?

NH Gives Day is a 24-hour online fundraising campaign, designed to raise awareness about how essential nonprofits are to our quality of life and to highlight the generous spirit of the citizens of our state. Our goal is to unite people around the causes they care about and help nonprofits connect to the larger community.

On June 7, New Hampshire's nonprofit sector will come together to celebrate our impact and amplify the generosity of our community, and we would love for you to be a part of it. NH Gives Day is brought to you thanks to the generous sponsorship of the NH Charitable Foundation, St. Mary's Bank, Grappone Automotive Group, the New Hampshire Union Leader, and Heartwood Media, and with support from NH Businesses for Social Responsibility, the Granite, Monadnock, Greater Nashua, Greater Seacoast, and Sullivan County United Ways.

Search for AVA's new Executive Director is Underway

Following the announcement that AVA Gallery and Art Center's longtime executive director Bente Torjusen will be retiring at the end of 2016, AVA's Board of Directors secured the services of the executive search firm Arts Consulting Group (ACG) to lead a national search for a new executive director.

ACG is the leading provider of hands-on interim management, executive search, revenue enhancement, facilities and program planning, and organizational development services for the arts and culture industry.

AVA's operations and programs will not be impacted by the cost of the search, as it has been offset by donations from current and former board members. Additionally, ACG is providing its services including a generous in-kind contribution in support of AVA and the Upper Valley arts community.
