It's been a beautiful and activity-filled summer at AVA thus far, we hope yours has been equally rewarding.

Participants in our week-long Summer Art Camps for children and teens are having a great time making art, with parents leaving the building on Fridays with cars-full of art projects.  Some spaces are still available in our August camps, so please read on to learn how to get involved.

Our next exhibition features work by the winners of the 2013 Juried Summer Exhibition on the first floor, with Horses and Hounds showing on the second floor. Kira's Garden is in full bloom, so please see the sculpture we have on display outdoors, too.

Stay cool,

Call for Proposals: New Hampshire State Council on the Arts' Percent for Art Program -- Lakes Region Community College
Deadline: August 22

The New Hampshire Percent for Art Program was enacted by the New Hampshire Legislature in 1979 to ensure that all forms of visual arts and crafts have an integral and im portant place in the public spaces of state buildings. The program is administered by the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts (NHSCA), which seeks a genuine integration of art and architecture by giving an opportunity to architects, planners, artists, state employees, arts professionals, and private citizens to collaborate in planning projects, and selecting, purchasing, or commissioning works of art by artists and craftspeople for state buildings.
