HealtHIE Nevada is proud of our data providers who share their clinical information with the rest of the HealtHIE Nevada participants. HealtHIE Nevada has four data feeds that pass through the HIE: laboratory results (LAB), radiology results and radiology images (RAD), transcription reports (TRANS), and admit, discharge, transfer (ADT) data. eClinicalworks Connectivity Now Available Through HealtHIE Nevada

Great news from HealtHIE Nevada! eClinicalworks (eCw) now has connectivity to the HIE. What does that mean for you? If you are using eCw as your EMR, you now have access to patient laboratory information, radiology reports, and images along with transcription results from a variety of local health systems through a single interface connection into eCw. Health Information Technology Intern Program a Success!

Over the past year, interns have become an integral component of HealtHIE Nevada and the Health Information Technology (HIT) team at HealthInsight.  Internships offer the opportunity for students to learn about their respective fields in a real-world atmosphere. These positions also allow HealthInsight to benefit from the unique skills and perspectives that students can offer. Nevada has an expansive university system that offers skilled students to local employers who act as important resources for the community.  Read more...

Have you met with the HealtHIE Nevada support team lately? Keeping our participants up to date and satisfied is the No. 1 goal of the support team. In addition to our regular, on-demand support services and after-hours support for critical issues, we strive to meet with each participant a minimum of once every quarter. New Virtual Health Record Participants 

 

Since the launch of the virtual health record (VHR) and patient consent management in September 2013, we have welcomed many new participants to the HealtHIE Nevada family. Geriatric Specialty Care, Carson Valley Medical Center clinics, Dr. Simon Farrow, Connection M.D., Pulmonary Medicine Associates, Sierra Nevada Nephrology, Pulmonary Associates, Dr. Margaret Goodman, along with many others are now accessing their patients' health information through the VHR. 

Town Hall Summary

HealtHIE Nevada hosted three Town Halls throughout the state in January 2014. Community members in Las Vegas, Carson City and Reno were invited to learn about HealtHIE Nevada and the Health Information Exchange (HIE) through presentations on the past, present and future. The Town Halls also featured live testimonials from providers with first-hand experience with the exchange.  Read more...

Provider lauds effort to let patients review, correct health records

 

Since last October, patients at the Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph, Mo., have been able to go to a Web-based portal, review and update their own electronic health records and help clinicians and staffers prepare "co-notes" in advance of face-to-face visits.

Heartland is an early adopter in the movement toward open records, which, proponents say, will become the norm as patients exert their legal rights to access and correct their medical information.  Read More...
