Walk or Ski to Live Well!
Commute By Foot
Walk Winona County is a customized temporary signage project to raise awareness about active commuting and to start a dialogue about the walkability of our community. Signs located in Downtown Winona and Mankato-Sarnia area indicate direction and distance in minutes to certain frequented destinations, including parks, shopping, grocery stores, banks, coffee, dining, and more. This project supports an active lifestyle and encourages more permanent changes to the built environment. Please share your feedback in order to help inform more permanent way-finding signage in Winona.
To Ski Or Not To Ski, There Is No Question
Let's get real for a minute. WE LIVE IN MINNESOTA. This means that winter lasts a LONG TIME! How do you choose to spend that time?
I hibernate
I spend time outdoors
I'm active through the winter

If you checked any of the above, we've got a program for you! Winona is establishing a new program for experienced as well as brand new cross country skiers. The Central Cross Country Ski Association's Masters Team is a group of skiers of all ages and ability levels who love the sport, want to give back to their community, and want to see cross country skiing grow. In return for the generous support, CXC provides very unique and exciting opportunities to its members, including professional instruction through local ski clinics, top level race support service, and social/training experience with other athletes.
