Making Space in Your Day
Ways to Make Space in Your Day

Notes from Michelle Urbick's presentation at the August 2015 Women In Business luncheon. Michelle is the founder of Rosy Blu and Hello Blu Studio.

Ask Yourself

What would you like to make space in your life FOR?
What would you like to make space in your life FROM?

Making Space

Plan your day
by choosing what you do. Do not bite off more than you can possibly chew in one day. Select three things that you need to do, and then allow yourself to feel the glorious sense of accomplishment that follows, instead of the heavy guilt that comes from not accomplishing a longer list.
Make space at home by getting rid of 10 things that are not BLU (beautiful, loved, or used). Make sure these items make it OUT of your home and into your car or they might end up back in the house!
Make space in time by protecting your calendar. "Why put off until tomorrow what you can cancel?" Create false time constraints for yourself. Activities expand to fill the time we have available. Limit yourself, for example 30 minutes for email or 20 minutes to clean. Make a playlist to help you limit the time, or set an alarm.
