Live Well Winona | Healthy Habits, better lives

Sunshine on my shoulder makes me happy... John Denver must have been experiencing days like the past few that we've had when he penned that song.  After a long winter and a very wet spring, it seems as though our moods are lighter, brighter and happier these days.

To keep that momentum going, take time to get outside and experience all of the new life that spring time brings us.  Stop to enjoy all of the sights, sounds, and  smells that are around you. Take time to reflect, to be thankful for each and every day. Celebrate life, celebrate you!!

Sunshine on the water looks so lovely, sunshine almost always makes me high...

Our body deals with nutrients differently at different times, depending on how someone exercises. By consuming certain nutrients after your workout, you can potentially improve your body composition, performance levels, and overall body recovery.

May Date Idea: Play Streets & Touch A Truck

Grab the kids for this one! On Saturday, May 17th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in downtown Winona, your family can explore parked trucks and vehicles in several parking lots, and physical activity in the streets!  This fun hands-on event provides a safe and engaging atmosphere for active discovery, play, and physical activity. Have your picture taken in a truck, ask the firefighter how he saves lives, play tennis in the street, try the bike rodeo, or sample a fitness class! Drop mom off at the relaxation station for a quick chair massage while the kids have their faces painted. Participants are encouraged to bring canned food items that will be collected for Winona Volunteer Services. Bike to the event and leave your bike securely in the complimentary bike valet while you play!
Volunteers are also needed for this event. Sign up here.
