Why does Santa like to garden? Because he can hoe, hoe, hoe!
Wishing you a warm and joyful holiday season!

The snow and the negative temperatures can't keep us Minnesotans down for long! Time to think about the challenges you'll take on in 2014.

Featured Resource of the Month: Lutheran Campus Center
Lutheran Campus Center (LCC) is a ministry that serves the students and staff of Winona State University, Saint Mary's University of Minnesota, and Minnesota State College-Southeast Technical.
"We strive to communicate the Christian message of the gospel in fresh ways that bear witness to God's amazing grace. We are sensitive to the unique needs of those on campus and are ready to engage young adults facing the most pressing challenges of their academic lives. The Lutheran Campus Center reaches out to ALL who teach and learn, inviting them to experience the joys of serving God and neighbor".

Making a Difference Award: Blandin Leaders
These community leaders were selected to represent Winona at the Blandin Community Leadership Program, giving up a week with their families, and time away from their jobs and lives to learn about leadership. The learning, self-reflection, and transformation that takes place during this retreat is hard to define, yet the energy and motivation of this group traveled back to Winona with them and is starting to make a difference. As these leaders tackle different community issues, they approach them with renewed vigor, fresh skills, and a mindset of 'we' and not 'me.' Thank you to each and every one of these individuals for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to our community. You are each a blessing to Winona.

I enjoyed this recipe after indulging in an array of appetizers and main dishes at a recent "friendsgiving". It was just the right light treat after a large holiday meal.
