Greetings!
WHAT A WEEK! Live Well Winona's first fundraiser in the form of a Community Challenge has been hugely successful thanks to the participation of hundreds of community members in a diverse collection of activities. We want to thank the community members that participated in our Mud Run, and the following businesses that persevered through the rest of the challenge:
| Congratulations to our WINNERS! Watlow
took the gold in the large bracket, Winona Family YMCA dominated the medium bracket, and Miller Scrap battled it out for the small bracket. Don't forget to check out Mud Run and Community Challenge pictures!

Nutrition article: "Whole Graining It"
Whether it was in the grocery store, in a television ad, or even at the doctor's office, most Americans have been introduced to the idea that they should be increasing their whole grain consumption as this could improve their health. For many though, this may have been all the information that they received.

Featured resource of the month: WAAS
Live Well Winona, and all of the race participants, greatly appreciated the attendance of an ambulance at the first annual Mud Run this month. We have the Winona Area Ambulance Service to thank for providing that service and support.
Winona Area Ambulance Service provides advanced pre-hospital patient care to thousands of patients every year. With a dedicated staff of over 26 highly skilled Paramedics and EMTs, their company is able to provide the following services 24 hours a day:
- Primary emergency 911 response for the City of Winona as well as surrounding communities in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
- Mutual aid and intercept response with other area ambulance agencies.
- Emergent and Non-Emergent Inter-facility transport for patients requiring specialty care.
- Training and continuing education for area emergency responders and health care providers

Making a Difference award: Community Challenge Leads
Live Well Winona's successful Community Challenge fundraiser could not have been executed without the dedication and enthusiasm of certain individuals. We'd like to acknowledge the champions within each of our teams that recruited team-members, encouraged individuals to try new things, and cheered them on through the week of challenges. We are also grateful to these businesses for sponsoring their employees and encouraging this opportunity for healthy activities, team-bonding, and community engagement.
