Nutrition article - MyPlate in the School Cafeteria!

This year, school meals are getting a whole new look. Thanks t o the USDA's new Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act, school meals are now looking a lot more like MyPlate, the government's roadmap for healthy eating. "MyPlate allows school nutrition professionals and students to speak the same language," says Rachel Begun.

Minnesota Marine Art Museum - featured resource of the month:
The Minnesota Marine Art Museum opened July 27, 2006, featuring three major art collections, making it a regional and national attraction. With its diversity in exhibit offerings, it appeals to people from a variety of backgrounds. The museum also has many wonderful programs geared toward families, adults, and schools, including school tours and also a program called SPARK which is a cultural program for people with memory loss.

Making a Difference award:
Roxanne Ready celebrated her 50th birthday the same way she does every year. Not with cake and ice cream and balloons, but with miles. Roxanne's birthday tradition is a different kind of celebration of self; she does a mile for every year that she's celebrating. This year she ran, rollerbladed, and did 3 kinds of bike riding to cover over 50 miles. Read more!
