New! NCATS launches Biomedical Data Translator Program (Translator)  
NCATS is soliciting applications to address the architecture design needs and technical feasibility for Translator, a new center to accelerate biomedical translation. Awards are planned to total $5M for up to five projects with project periods of two years. Apply by Jun. 1. More here

A study led by Dr. Xia Yang, assistant professor of integrative biology and physiology at UCLA, finds that hundreds of genes in the brain can be damaged by fructose and potentially lead to a range of diseases. The good news: the research also identifies an omega-3 fatty acid that seems to reverse the harmful effects. The study was supported by a CTSI voucher. Read more.

NCATS encourages women entrepreneurs and researchers to consider WOSB certification as they apply for funding through Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs. Learn more.
