New! UC Launches $4M Alzheimer's Initiative
The UC Cures initiative will fund two promising Alzheimer's disease research projects with $1M annually for two years. Applications are open to UC investigators and due Mar. 14. Details here.

Older Americans Rapid Pilot Grants 
The UCLA Claude D. Pepper Older Americans Independence Center and CTSI are providing up to $10K for aging-related basic, clinical and health services research. Applications are accepted until the program's allocated funds are spent. More here. 

California National Primate Research Center Pilot Awards
CNPRC will award up to $50K to pilot projects that address biomedical / translational research topics using nonhuman primates. LOIs are due Feb. 15. Details here.
CTSI TL1 Summer Fellowship
The fellowship for health professional students provides eight weeks of training, a stipend, and funds for research project expenses. Application deadline is Feb. 1. Go here for details. 

KL2 Translational Science Awards
Junior faculty are eligible for the awards, which support up to three years of mentored, interdisciplinary, patient-oriented research. LOI deadline is Feb. 1; applications are due Feb. 22. Details here.

14th Annual CNS Basic and Translational Research Symposium
The Oppenheimer Center for Neurobiology of Stress symposium on Feb. 19 will open with Dr. Griffin Rodgers, Director of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive & Kidney Diseases at the National Institutes of Health. Keynote speakers, Dr. Rob Knight, of UC San Diego, and Dr. Tracy Bale, of University of Pennsylvania, will address the gut microbiome. More here.
