KL2 Award Opportunity
The CTSI of Southeast Wisconsin seeks applicants for a three-year, mentored training and research award in sickle cell disease and non-malignant hematology. Application deadline is Jan. 31. Details can be found here.
CTSI-CDI Children's Health Team Science Award
The award supports research teams at UCLA and CTSI partner institutions to conduct novel, multidisciplinary, high impact research in children's health. Awards up to $200,000 will support four initial research themes. LOIs are due Nov. 15. Learn more and apply here.
CTSI-OAIC Rapid Pilot Grants Program
UCLA Older Americans Independence Center and the CTSI are offering grants for age-related basic, clinical and health services research. Awards will range from $1,000 to $10,000 and deadline is rolling. Click here for details.
CIRM Tools and Technologies III Awards
The award will support the creation, design and testing of broadly applicable novel tools and technologies that address translational bottlenecks to stem cell therapies. Pre-application deadline is Jan. 7. More details here.

NEWS FROM CTSI
UC ReX: a UC Shared Data ResourceUC Research eXchange and its UC ReX Data Explorer tool have launched, now providing researchers and specialists access to cohort counts derived from de-identified clinical data collected at the point of care to improve medical care and advance research. The tool enables exploration of a combined population of over 12 million patients from medical center databases at UCLA, UC Irvine, UC Davis, UCSD and UCSF. Start exploring UC ReX now. RSVP is required by Nov. 7 for the Dec. 12, all-day workshop at Westwood campus. This popular workshop now addresses different topics on submitting R grant applications. In the afternoon, faculty will review and discuss draft R grant plans/proposals submitted by K/CDA awardees and provide feedback on preparing successful R grant applications on an individual basis.
