FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES
CTSI-CDI Children's Health Team Science Award
CTSI and the UCLA Children's Discovery and Innovation Institute are soliciting letters of intent from research teams at UCLA and CTSI partner institutions to conduct novel, multidisciplinary, team-oriented and high impact research in Children's Health. Awards up to $200,000 will support four initial research themes--intended to be broadly and inclusively interpreted--to help investigators develop forums for multidisciplinary work. CTSI-OAIC Rapid Pilot Grants Program
UCLA Older Americans Independence Center and the CTSI are offering grants for age-related basic, clinical and health services research. Awards will range from $1,000 to $10,000. UCLA junior faculty members or advanced trainees at the post-doctoral level are eligible and must have an identified UCLA faculty mentor. Click here for details.

CIRM Tools and Technologies III Awards RFA 13-05 will support the creation, design and testing of broadly applicable novel tools and technologies and optimization, improvement, standardization or scale-up of existing tools or technologies for addressing translational bottlenecks to stem cell therapies. UC ReX: a UC Shared Data ResourceUC Research eXchange and its UC ReX Data Explorer tool have launched, now providing researchers and specialists access to cohort counts derived from de-identified clinical data collected at the point of care to improve medical care and advance research. The tool enables exploration of a combined population of over 12 million patients from medical center databases at UCLA, UC Irvine, UC Davis, UCSD and UCSF. Start exploring UC ReX now. RSVP is required by Nov. 7 for the Dec. 12, all-day workshop at Westwood campus. This popular workshop now addresses different topics on submitting R grant applications. In the afternoon, faculty will review and discuss draft R grant plans/proposals submitted by K/CDA awardees and provide feedback on preparing successful R grant applications on an individual basis. Strengthening Dissemination, Implementation and Improvement (DII) at UCLA: Launching a New CTSI Initiative
This Oct. 25 seminar will introduce the new UCLA CTSI DII initiative and discuss the importance of DII research in achieving the benefits of research in improved policy, practice and public health.
