UCLA CTSI K-Award Bridge Grants 
Junior faculty who have applied for NIH K awards and have received competitive scores are invited to apply for a one-time bridge grant of up to $200,000 for up to 18 months. Application deadline is July 15 at 5 pm. Additional details and RFA can be found here.

Catalyst Awards 
Awards of $100 to $5,000 each support team-building activities that advance translational science and promote collaborations across disciplines and CTSI institutions. Deadline is August 1. Details can be found here

Minihepcidin Research Featured on Univision's Primero Noticias
UCLA researcher, Elizabeta Nemeth, PhD, and colleagues were featured on Univision's Spanish-language morning program Primero Noticias to describe how the human body-- and especially the liver-- react to excess iron in the bloodstream. Details and video can be found here.

CTSI Seeks Focus Group Volunteers to Provide Feedback on Website Redesign

GSK Discovery Fast Track Competition
The UCLA Office of Intellectual Property said barriers to faculty participation in the GlaxoSmithKline opportunity have been cleared. The deadline for the competition is July 19. Given the short time frame, interested faculty are encouraged to contact the Office of Intellectual Property & Industry Sponsored Research for consultation and assistance.
