UCLA CTSI K-Award Bridge Grants
Junior faculty who have applied for NIH K awards and have received competitive scores are invited to apply for a one-time bridge grant of up to $200,000 for up to 18 months. Application deadline is July 15 at 5 pm. Additional details and RFA can be found here.
Harrington Prize for Innovation in Medicine
The American Society for Clinical Investigation and the Harrington Discovery Institute at Case Medical Center annually award a $20K honorarium to a physician-scientist for creative innovations with clinical application. Arleen Brown, MD, PhD, leader of CTSI Community Engagement Program, will discuss the process of engaging communities in research. Lunch will be provided at the June 24 seminar. More information can be found here.
Drug Development Series
In the fifth installment of this series, Michael Palozzolo, MD, PhD, visiting professor of medicine at UCLA, will discuss small molecule drug development, including process mapping, project management and strategic planning. The UCLA Biomedical Library will hold two hourlong seminars about online tools that allow users to edit, save and share documents, citations and presentations. Find out more about the June 26 and June 28 events
Community Symposium on Stroke
This symposium, to be held at the Holman United Methodist Church in Los Angeles on July 19, will provide information about stroke warning signs, risk factors, treatment and disparities.
