FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES 
Robert Wood Johnson Foundation-CTSA RFP 
This opportunity provides up to $100K for 24-month pilots focused on public health delivery and disease prevention strategies. Each CTSA may submit only one application. RWJF and individual CTSAs will jointly fund up to 10 awards. A Web conference is scheduled for April 16 at noon, and all potential applicants are strongly encouraged to attend. Investigators May Request CTSI Services Online

A user-friendly portal on the CTSI website allows investigators to request a variety of assistance, including biostatistical support, clinical research services, and matchmaking to foster new community or inter-institutional collaborations. A UCLA log-in ID is required. Questions about the service can be directed to CTSI research facilitators.

 

White House Releases FY 2014 NCATS Budget

The $462.5-million budget proposed for the national CTSA program is 0.2 percent greater than the actual FY 2012 budget. According to the budget statement, the program is emphasizing inter-CTSA collaborations, increased engagement with patient and provider communities, and improvements to the quality and efficiency of clinical research.

Drug Development Series: From Bench to Clinic

In the third installment of his series, UCLA Visiting Professor Michael Palazzolo, MD, PhD will discuss targets and biomarkers, including developing road maps, designing informatics and design systems and project management. REMINDERS
Clinical & Translational Research Center-Westwood Seed Grant Program
CTRC seed grants foster collaborations between UCLA investigators and the Westwood CTRC. Awards will provide a maximum of $30,000 for up to 18 months. Applicants must be UCLA faculty or hold a faculty position at a UCLA affiliate. Letters of Intent are due Apr. 16. Details can be found here.
 
Medical Genetics T-32 Training Grant Call for Applications

The application deadline for this inter-campus training program is Apr. 30. It is open to PhDs and MDs, but MDs are preferred. Additional information is available here.
