FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES 
KL2 Translational Science Award
The award supports highly qualified junior faculty to conduct mentored, interdisciplinary, patient-oriented research. Applications are due 8 AM Feb. 25.  Additional information can be found here

 

UCLA CTSI-Los Angeles County Department of Health Services Collaboration Grants

The grants provide up to $30,000 for a period of one year to test solutions that enable LAC DHS to improve and increase delivery of high quality, patient-centered services without increasing costs.  UCLA CTSI and LAC DHS anticipate making up to five (5) awards. Investigators May Now Request CTSI Services Online

A user-friendly portal on the CTSI website allows investigators to request a variety of assistance, including biostatistical support, clinical research services, and matchmaking to foster new community or inter-institutional collaborations. A UCLA log-in ID is required and can be obtained here. Questions about the new service can be entered online or directed to CTSI research facilitators.

Evolutionary Medicine Month

Paul W. Ewald, PhD, an evolutionary biologist at the University of Louisville, will offer evolutionary insights into the causes and prevention of cancer in his lecture at UCLA on Feb. 13.  Additional details may be found here.
