Holidays are all about fun, joy, giving, and receiving. You know I love all four of those.

We all just celebrated Thanksgiving, and, beyond gorging ourselves on food, we hopefully gave thanks for the many things in life for which we're grateful.
One of the many gratitudes I had was all of you, my faithful Ahimsa Lifers. Thank you for your readership, your comments (which I always love - send 'em my way!), and your support.
May this upcoming holiday season continue with the joy, love, and gratitude in your life and in the lives of those around you. |

Greetings!
There's a new opportunity in my life that I'm looking forward to being thankful for, but it's not quite in grasp yet - with that, I call on you for your help.
I discovered a Reiki Certification Retreat a couple of months ago, fortuitously connecting with the organizer of the event, Reiki Master Teacher Tania Marie, of Emerald Bridge in Costa Mesa. The retreat combines all of my passions, dreams, intentions into one big event: yoga, meditation, raw vegan cuisine, swimming with dolphins in their natural habitat, and Reiki Certification - all during the special (and energetic) 12/21/12 birthing solstice of the New Earth. I knew then that I must be a part of this, and, after many ups and downs with circumstances in my own life, I decided that I would do everything in my power to make it so.
Through extra work & extra saving, I've gotten mySelf part-way there; with your help, my dream can become a reality.
Because of my love for creative ventures and giving back, I started a makeshift ALC Kickstarter fundraiser for this Reiki Certification Retreat, where you - yes, you! - can help me out by contributing and I - yes, me! - can give you a gift in return as thanks for your generosity toward getting me to the retreat.
I'm currently almost a third of the way to my goal with a week and a half left to raise the money. Anything makes a difference. If everyone were to contribute $5, that would be enough. Even one dollar is a step forward, and also much appreciated.

In honor of Movember, the month of the year (otherwise known as November) where men of all walks of life from all around the world grow out Mos (otherwise known as mustaches or moustaches) "to raise awareness and funds for men's health issues, specifically prostate and testicular cancer initiatives."
Last year, over 850,000 Mos (Mo Bros and Mo Sistas) grew out (or were donned) for the movement, raising over $125 million. I hope this year was even more successful in raising awareness and funds. As a nutrition coach, I advocate for a plant-based diet (whole-food, plant-based, at that), as research and evidence has shown that such a diet prevents, and often reverses, chronic diseases. With more education on the subject and transitions toward plant-based eating, we'll surely see a shift away from high rates of cancers and other diseases and toward optimal health.
