Greetings!
Let me take this opportunity to thank all of you who supported KDB during our recent annual Spring On-Air Membership Campaign. Between the renewals we received by mail and the contributions made via our website and call center during the on-air phase of the campaign, KDB generated $40,000. While we fell short of our $50,000 goal for this portion of the campaign, we did hear from 180 of you, including 60 listeners who became new members of KDB.
KDB is on a path to be financially self-sufficient. To get there we must rely more and more on listeners and other donors to take on a greater share of support for this classical music and arts radio station. With the flattening of our advertising income over the past five years due to the slow economy and increased competition from other media sources, we can no longer depend on our business supporters alone. Our survival requires multiple revenue streams.
The "on-air" portion of our Spring Campaign is over, but we are still taking contributions to make our financial goal of $150,000 by June 30th! We hope to achieve these goals with our annual Spring direct mail appeal, which will go out at beginning of June.
