Talking About

On October 8, friends, major donors and staff of KDB gathered at the lovely home of Gene Sinser and Patty DeDominic for an afternoon celebrating the station and the arts. Laurie Rasmussen supplied atmospheric harp music that wafted through the house, Catering Connections provided delicious hors d'oeuvres, Kick-On pinot noir was courtesy of Steve Lyons. Susan Gulbransen, KDB Board Chair, Tim Owens, Vice-President and General Manager, Ron Gallo, Santa Barbara Foundation President, and Robert Emmons, board member, spoke cogently and passionately about the amazing changes at KDB over the past three years, and plans for the future.  Entertainment by the Fiato Quartet ended the event on a high note.

Greetings!

This month KDB 93.7FM gives thanks to you, our faithful listeners,  donors and advertisers.  We would not be here without you!

Last month, KDB held our fall on-air fund drive, "Campaign for the Future."  The station was fortunate to receive a $25,000 matching challenge grant for the drive from an anonymous donor.  KDB's success in matching the grant so pleased our anonymous donor that the grant total has been increased to $50,000.  So, many thanks if you gave during our on-air fundraiser: your gift has now been tripled!

The station also held a number of sweepstakes during "Campaign for the Future."  See who won which tickets in the article that follows.

Less than a month remains before KDB's 32nd annual Messiah singalong.  We tell you where to find tickets and scores.

In our occasional column, Talking About, we recap our Fall Friendraiser, a reception for KDB's major donors and friends.  A complete photo album can be viewed at our Friendraiser Slideshow.

Remember - you can customize the news you receive from KDB.  Just go to our web sign-up to receive special announcements in addition to this newsletter.  Enjoy!

Who Won the Sweepstakes?

KDB collaborates with local performing arts groups in a number of ways.  We present live broadcasts, recorded broadcasts (Santa Barbara in Concert on Sundays at 7 pm) arts features and interviews, bus trips and ticket giveaways, all intended to help deepen your connection to the arts in our area.

Last month during KDB's on-air drive, "Campaign for the Future" we also gave away a number of tickets, donated by local performing arts groups and bus trip vendors, during daily sweepstakes drawings.  Congratulations to the lucky winners:
