Greetings!
Tomorrow KDB begins our fall on-air fund drive "Campaign for the Future": eight fun-filled days with live hosts and some great premium gifts (including tickets to André Watts and Aldo's Italian Restaurant, The Met's Live in HD series at the Music Academy of the West, and Barbra Streisand's nearly Sold Out concert at the Hollywood Bowl on November 9!). Prefer to contribute now? KDB accepts donations online anytime. October also marks the opening of the performing arts season. KDB is honored and thrilled to begin our season of Live Broadcasts with the Gala Concert marking the Santa Barbara Symphony's 60th season, Saturday October 20th at 8 pm. Read more below. And we introduce you to our Summer Intern, Zoe Echternacht, who is so wonderful that we've kept her on at KDB into the fall. Remember - you can customize the news you receive from KDB. Just go to our web sign-up to receive special announcements in addition to this newsletter. Enjoy! |
KDB Around Town
On Saturday, October 20th, the Santa Barbara Symphony will celebrate the gala opening of its 60th season, and KDB will be there!

André Watts |
Enjoy the festivities, broadcast live at 8 pm, with Andre Watts playing Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto #2, the premiere of local (and world-renowned) composer Emma Lou Diemer's Santa Barbara Overture, and a little ditty known as Beethoven's Symphony No. 5.
KDB's Steve Murphy and the Santa Barbara Symphony's Ramon Araiza will be your co-hosts for the evening, providing you with witty and warm insights into the evening's festivities and concert. |
Please let us know what you think of the new KDB by writing to us at newsletter@kdb.com or contacting me at 805.966.4131 X373.
