Oil conference again drawing global interest

More than 3,400 people from 49 states and eight foreign countries are registered for next week's Williston Basin Petroleum Conference, with more expected to register when the conference begins May 20.

ND to get first liquefied natural gas processing plant

  

A North Dakota company announced plans Wednesday for the state's first production facility for liquefied natural gas, some of which will be used to supplement diesel fuel burned by oil drilling rigs and fracking operations.

North Dakota oil production hit another all-time high in March at 977,051 barrels per day after three months of tough winter weather slowed the state's oil activity.
Rigs up 30 to 1,861

The U.S. rig count is at 1,855 this week, just one up from a week ago. Oil rigs are up one to 1,528, and gas rigs stayed steady at 323

The North Dakota Department of Mineral Resources lists 192 active drilling rigs in the state.
