Dickinson allocates $400K for utilities

 

If the City of Dickinson gives $400,000 to extend sewer and water across Interstate 94 near Exit 59, it risks the chance of not reclaiming that money, officials said at the Monday City Commission meeting at City Hall. 

 

Proppant plant in Gladstone may be ready by 2013

Traffic and jobs were among issues on the minds of about 30 people who waited an extra hour for a representatives from a Houston corporation to arrive to answer questions about a proppant distribution facility to be built near the city during an informational meeting at the Gladstone Knights of Columbus Monday. The meeting was pushed back from 7 to 8 p.m. due to a plane delay.

 

Low Income Housing Credits
 
The population of Western North Dakota is growing at a constant rate and low-income housing is at a minimum. Cities like Dickinson are noticing a shortage in low-income and affordable housing, and the state is trying to help.

N.D. oil production sets record in February 

 

North Dakota's crude oil production continues to set records as February's output was pegged at averaging 558,254 barrels per day, up from the previous record of 546,318 in January, according to the state's Department of Mineral Resources.

Wind mostly culprit for small oil spill

  

The power of the wind was bleakly demonstrated Wednesday when a small amount of oil escaped a well five miles northwest of South Heart and blew across five to 10 acres of agricultural land leaving an orange film of oil and fluids on grass and field cover.

 

Dickinson gets $1.5M energy grant: Funds slated for new police, fire departments home

 

A grant of $1.5 million could help the Dickinson Police Department and Dickinson Fire Department find a new home, officials said Friday.

Clean up crew 
 
Owen Kintzley, a Baker Hughes employee, cleans up trash Wednesday morning along Highway 22 in north Dickinson. He was participating in the North Dakota Petroleum Council's "Oil Can! Pick up the Patch!" program. About 100 volunteers participated in the event which was led by Dickinson's Marathon Oil.
