Dickinson Reviews Cost of Water Treatment Plant
The estimated cost for a wastewater treatment facility in Dickinson continues to rise given the city's progressive growth rate. The project cost is now estimated at $34.3 million.
Initially, the project was estimated at $10 million, then $20 and now $30 million according to City Commissioner Carson Steiner.
Apex Engineering is working on the wastewater treatment facility project with the city. They have had to amend the project due to the city's perpetual growth affecting the current use of the water treatment plant as the flow and load strength is increasing.
The city is looking at three locations to build. There is no cost estimate for the first location but for the other two it is between $3 million and $4 million. These location costs are separate from the cost of wastewater treatment facility project.
