California Women Lead has increased our overall efforts to campaign aggressively for increasing women in elected and appointed positions. We broadening our efforts to reach all women in California and we are bringing Appointment Training workshops to Fresno and San Diego this year.

CAN'T ATTEND OUR TRAINING?

California Women Lead begun taping our trainings to provide access to women all across the state. Visit our Youtube Channel to see video of our most recent Appointments Training Workshop with clips from Assembly Speaker Toni Atkins and Assembly Minority Leader Connie Conway.

California Women Lead will be interviewing with Comcast's Newsmakers on June 10 about why it is important for women to be civically engaged. A recap of how women faired in the June primary will also be included. Charter Communication's California edition will also host California Women Lead later this month to discuss the upcoming Women's Empowerment Day in Riverside. Those in Sacramento will be available to view the interview on the California Channel and those in Southern California who subscribe to Charter will be able to view it on the "Politics, News & Information" channel, channels 101 and 188 locally.  


WOMEN'S EMPOWERMENT DAY 
AT THE CAPITOL 
 

On Monday, May 12th, California Women Lead hosted its fourth annual Women's Empowerment Day at the Capitol. Thank you to all of our speakers and members of the State Legislator that attended this event, which brought together women from throughout the state and gave them the skills they need to be empowered leaders in their own communities. 17TH ANNUAL SAN DIEGO
NETWORKING LUNCHEON
 

Thank you to everyone who joined us at our 17th Annual San Diego Networking Luncheon on Friday, May 16th at the Prado at Balboa Park with a special thank you to presenting sponsor Bridgepoint Education. Due to the devastating fires around San Diego County, some of our scheduled panelists were unable to attend. However, we are thankful that they were not effected and we applaud all of the public safety personnel and local leaders who were affected by this difficult situation. This luncheon was the had the highest attendance of any event we've hosted in San Diego, and we're looking forward to our 18th Annual San Diego Networking Luncheon scheduled for May 2015. Click here to view more photos»  

 


PEACE OFFICER JOB VACANCIES 
 

California Women Lead wants to help all women achieve their political and professional goals. If you are interested in a rewarding career in public service, the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) is working to fill 7,000 peace officer job vacancies over the next three years. This six-week leadership training is dedicated to giving future candidates the skills and tools needed to run and win a successful political campaign. Trainings are limited to a select number of women. The graduation will take place in September as part of the California Women Lead salute to Los Angeles women leaders reception.
