Fun Fishing Day
Saturday, October 17th was a beautiful day to host the 4th Annual Fun Fishing Day at the Pelican Rest Marina in Galveston! The children of the Ronald McDonald House had a wonderful morning fishing with Club volunteers. They brought hundreds of piggy perch to the docks along with some sizable redfish and even a small stingray! After a full morning of fishing, the children and their families were treated to a delicious lunch sponsored by Bealine Environmental Services and prepared by the Lighthouse Charity Team of Galveston. They received goody bags donated by Orca Assets Group filled with everyday necessities plus Walmart gift cards donated by Friendly Properties of Texas and dental care items donated by Kona Coast Dental Care. Trophies for their fishing accomplishments and snapshots filled with smiling faces will remind the children of their special day fishing with Club volunteers!
The 2015 Fun Fishing Day was made possible due to the efforts and generosity of the following Sponsors, Donors and Volunteers!

Captain's Corner
Most of our members are spending more time at the ranch this time of year but there are some who are enjoying the cooler fall fishing days on the coast. The tarpon bite really turned on toward the end of September through the middle of October this year with some of the boats having double digit days. The smaller cold fronts have just started to get the flounder moving out of the marshes but many people are already catching limits of decent size fish. Offshore there have still been some good blue marlin catches reported when boats could get out and the tuna bite has seemed to be up and down with the better bite being closer to the new moon. Good luck to everyone and stay safe out there!
