The 2014 Billfish Foundation Tag and Release Program results are in!  Congratulations to Club Members Dan Haeuser and Captain Jimmy Crochet for winning the Top Tagging Boat and Top Tagging Captain divisions in the GOM Marlin Tagging Competition.  We also wish to congratulate Club Member and Corporate Sponsor Darryl Schroeder for winning the Top Sailfish Tagging Angler - Pacific Ocean, long time Club Member Bill Easum for winning the Top Sailfish Release Angler - Pacific Ocean and Club Member and Corporate Sponsor Chris Bays for winning the Top Striped Marlin Release Captain - Pacific Ocean.

The Wahoo fishing has been hit and miss so far this year with some boats catching one or two and others getting into double digits during the short weather breaks we have had. A couple of weekends ago there were reports of as many as 18 boats at the West Gardens with only a few fish being caught between them but there have been other crews that have made it out on the less crowded days to get into a decent bite this month. In the past years the larger fish usually show up early but there have been a couple of fish over 100 pounds caught in the last two weeks. We hope the weather cooperates and we all get to make it out there while the bite is still on!
