Captain's Corner

It's been a great summer for Team Legacy! At the beginning of the tournament season, the crew and I had talked about just being able to make a decent effort this year to place in some of the tournaments we were planning to fish (pretty much what all of us are thinking). As it turns out we got off to a very lucky start. Within 30 minutes of our first tournament of the season we hooked the Blue Marlin of a lifetime! It only took 20 minutes to catch but seemed like hours looking back on it. We said a lot of prayers and thanked the people looking down on us for this catch of a lifetime. It will be a fish story that we'll remember for the rest of our days! The Blue Marlin weighed in at 972.7 pounds. Legacy owner George Gartner, angler and team member Richard B. Richardson, Jr., mate and wireman Cameron Plaag and I were all on board for the incredible catch, which is the new Texas state record!

Captain Kevin Deerman.
